5. Car windshields

Let the Windex stay inside the house when you go out to clean your car. The soapy water used for the other parts of the car is just fine for the windshield.

If you want a fabulous finish, pay attention to how you dry it. Specialists are advising you to use blue medical rags as a trade secret to dry the windshield without streaking.

6. Home windows

Professional cleaners use water and dish soap to clean the windows. Add a little bit of dish soap to your bucket after you fill it with water, and use a scrubby pad to wipe the windows without letting residues in.

A squeegee works amazing for a clean finish. It’s important to start at the top and work all the way down with vertical or horizontal swoops. An extra tip is to clean the blade with a cloth after every use of the window.

  1. I quit buying Windex (or any generic) years ago. Alcohol, vinegar, or soap and water with a microcloth will always do a better more shiny job. Windex just smears and makes a film that is hard to get off.

  2. OMG!!!

  7. You told us ,in the most annoying format I must say, what not to use windex and might add not even windows ?? I thought that’s what windex was made for. 8. So if you shouldn’t use Windex ( which I believe is advertised as a window cleaner) on windows or the other 12 surfaces listed ( which is pretty much everything) then what would you use Windex for??

  10. So what are you supposed to use Windex on if not windows? There is basically no reason to ever use or buy Windex.
