Harsh chemicals
It’s not unusual for people to leave cleaning products, such as bleach, under the kitchen sink but that doesn’t make it right. This is particularly dangerous if you have children or pets. If they have easy access to such products, they can be at risk of ingesting them, so you’d better find a safer place to keep them.
You can move them up a bit, in a higher cabinet or in a closet where children or pets cannot reach them.

Insecticide
Nasty pests have a habit of congregating under the kitchen sink, so, it might seem like a good idea to leave insecticides or rat & mice poison at hand. Similarly, to harsh chemicals, such products should not be left within reach of young children. It’s best to store insecticides on a higher shelf in a storage room where only you have access.

You should leave a small bucket under the garbage disposal in case it leaks, especially if it is 6 years old or older. This will save you from cleaning up the mess in case it leaks. I know from personal experience!!!!
Appreciate the info!
Thank you
How would you describe an “absorbent mat” for under the sink? Do you mean something cotton, like a towel or dishtowel? Something like a bathroom mat? I’m just a little confused about what to look for that’s absorbent, but not a catch-all for dampness and germs or dangerous substances.
